My Latest Miracle plus Tips on Setting Intentions to Achieve a Goal

6 tips for setting intentions

I said I’d keep blogging about the everyday miracles I witness in my life as I live inspired, so I’m back today to share another one! Today’s “Five Minute Friday” (or as I call them “Poetic Fridays”) word is RELIEF (click that word for today’s poem).  That word is so dead on for me lately! I am going to share some encouragement and hope with you in the form of a new miracle that has transpired for me.  I hope it will speak to your heart and leave you feeling inspired!  At the end of this post you will find my “6 Tips on Setting Intentions”, along with a free 10 min. inspired mentoring podcast and poetry reading on this topic.       For the past couple years, and especially in … Continue Reading

Easter Memories from My Childhood

Spring photo of me as a child

Happy Easter inspired friends!  I meant to write sooner, but have been taking care of myself.  I was down in bed with a nasty cold and a mild fever for the past week, so that is why I’ve been missing again.  It’s the night before Easter Sunday and I am sitting here in a cozy room with my cat thinking about the meaning of Easter and how I’ve celebrated it over the years.  Today I will be sharing some Easter memories from my childhood with you and I would love to hear your Easter traditions and memories too!  Head on over to the blog to leave a comment or send an email if you’d like to share :).        Easter Sunday Church Services & What We Wore:   I … Continue Reading

Letters From Rebekah- The Plastic Snow and Other Oddities

Dear Inspired Friends, Spring is almost here and it has been awhile since I’ve posted.  I thought it was the perfect time for an old fashioned letter from me to you!  Things have been humming along at an alarmingly fast rate it seems (does anyone else feel like time is speeding up or something?  Wasn’t it just Christmas…).   There have been oddities too.  The quirky things in life are what make it fun and interesting though!  Take the “plastic” snow for example.  Winter has been hanging on here in Michigan (we had one almost 70 degree day this week, but we are expecting snow again).  Just a couple weeks ago when I stepped outside my house late one night I was greeted by the oddest looking snow scene I’ve … Continue Reading

The Open Heart Attracts Miracles – Five Minute Friday

Open Heart Affirmation by Rebekah

I’m linking up with the Five Minute Friday Community today to write on the word of the week as usual.   Because I am working on my poetry books, I won’t be writing today’s post in poetry form (but I did read a poem by Walt Whitman in today’s Poetic Friday Podcast).   Today I’m free flow writing unfiltered and straight from the heart.  The word is OPEN.  When I hear that word, the next word I think of is heart.  I think of both the difficulties we face when having open hearts, and the miracles.  The miracles always trump the difficulties.  I thought I’d write on how the open heart attracts miracles today!         Years ago I probably would have said that the open heart attracts drama … Continue Reading

The Time I Cooked My Daddy Corn Syrup Burgers

There is this wildly popular thing on social media called “Throwback Thursday”.  Since today is Thursday, I thought I’d share a funny cooking disaster story from when I was in the 5th grade.  I’ve had many kitchen foibles over the years, as any experienced cook has.  The time I cooked meat in corn syrup is the very first cooking disaster I ever remember having.  As far as how this relates to living inspired- I’d put it in the category of being bold and trying new things you’ve never done – all by yourself (like a big kid -HA!).  Of course trying new things you aren’t sure you can do is always inspiring-even if you fail.  Failure means you tried it so that is a GOOD thing!     I grew … Continue Reading

Loving YOU: Are You as Good to Yourself as You are to Others?

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I want to talk about self love today because Valentine’s Day is not just for couples in my book.  We often do so much for others and we treat others with love and kindness, but how are you at loving YOU?  I’m hoping that you take time out to love on yourself and treat yourself as good as you treat those around you.  This is really important as this self love thing trickles down to every aspect of our lives-including our relationships with others.  It affects our self worth, our own personal happiness and our ability to live inspired!  It is also part of a healthy self care practice.  Today I want to tell you how wonderful YOU are and encourage you to love on yourself this … Continue Reading

8 Ways to Create a Romantic Valentine’s Day Dinner for Two

8 ways to create a romantic valentines dinner for your man

Last year for Valentine’s Day (our first Valentine’s as home owners) I put together a sweet, romantic dinner for two here at home.  I LOVE creating themed tablescapes so today I’m sharing 8 ways to create a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for two!  I had to create last year’s Valentine’s Day tablescape with things we already had on hand because we are just starting out and I haven’t yet collected all the things seasoned home owners have.  I’m enjoying this phase though- the putting a life together piece by piece (on a budget) and making due with what we have.  I thought it would be fun to show you what I put together from my little treasure hunt through the house.  This is one of my first tablescapes and the … Continue Reading

Poetic Fridays – On Dreams and Publishing my Poetry

Hello Inspired Friends!  It’s a snowy Friday evening (a poetic Friday in fact!) but by the time you receive this via email it will be Saturday morning.  Poetic Friday’s are important to me (I mean poetry has been a big part of my life since elementary school AND has always been a major source of inspiration for me).  I am going to be taking a break from posting MY new poetry during Five Minute Friday’s for awhile.  I may still do Five Minute Friday’s here, but just write regularly on the word instead of poetry style.  No worries for those that enjoy my poems though- I am not going to stop writing them!  The thing is I am working pursuing my lifelong dream of publishing poetry books.   So here … Continue Reading

Make Every Day a Celebration!

Happy start of the week inspired friends!  Today I want to talk about what (for me) is a crucial part of living inspired-making every day a celebration!  It is part of how I create a happy, joy filled life for myself that makes the mundane marvelous (as I like to say).  You can do this in very little ways or in larger ways.  It doesn’t have to be a holiday.  In fact it is BEST when it isn’t one because it keeps life fun during those in between times.  I’ll give you a few tips on how I create ongoing celebrations in my life and also share photos from the tea party I had this weekend as part of my ongoing Christmas/New Year and just plain Winter festivities.   This … Continue Reading
