My ETSY Store and Flash Sales for Holiday Shopping!

Yay! It’s here! Today I am sharing the link to my ETSY store with you all so you can check it out. I am SO excited! There are 2 things going on in my store this month to celebrate its launch.  First is that there is a coupon code for 10% off your order and it is good until December 31, 2016 (the code is LAUNCH10).  The second thing is that I am doing a 12 days of Christmas sale, where each day I knock more money off ONE item (the art creation of the day) for a 24 hour flash sale.  Today is the 7th day of Christmas, so I know I am posting this a little late (I’ve been a very busy little fairy elf).  Because of that, I am leaving the first 6 items at the flash sale prices until midnight Eastern time on December 8th, AND am posting today’s deal as well. I’ve made a category titled “Flash Sale!” in my store so that you can easily find the sale items.  Every day at midnight Eastern time (USA) from now until December 12, a new deal will be posted.  There’s one more thing…

I wanted to do something extra special for my We Live Inspired email subscribers, because I am so grateful to you for being part of my community. So, I have made a secret coupon code just for you, that won’t be posted anywhere else.  Instead of the 10% off that everyone else gets, you can get 15% off anything in my store on top of the already lowered flash sale prices!  Here is your special code (to be entered at checkout. If you need help , don’t hesitate to email me at live.inspired.b@gmail.com ) : SUBSCRIBER15

You can click my store logo (below) now, if you want to be taken to my shop to check it out. Or keep reading and I will share a little more about the kind of art I have for sale there:

So about the store then 🙂 You can read the about page on the store itself if you are curious about the story of how my store came to be and more details about how it got its name.  To read about it just keep scrolling down the page when you click the main store link above. The page has all items for sale, but when you keep scrolling you will see some photos of me, my garden, the story of our store and our bios.

The shorter and less magical version is that I’ve always wanted to have a store to sell my art in and I am finally making that dream come true.  I came up with the name Ivy Rose Cottage Chic, because Ivy Rose Cottage is what I have named my home (but that will be a story of its own for a different day).  I have always loved cottages and the cottage lifestyle, and I love vintage things too.  My store motto is a quote from Jane Austen :

“I am excessively fond of a cottage; there is always so much comfort, so much elegance about them.”

the quote goes on to say:

“And I protest, if I had any money to spare, I should buy a little land and build one myself, within a short distance of London, where I might drive myself down at any time, and collect a few friends about me and be happy. I advise everybody who is going to build, to build a cottage.”

And build a cottage I shall 😀 .  It has always been my dream to live in one, and so I am slowly working on making my home look like more of a cottage both outside and in.  My store is really an extension of my home and a place for anyone who likes cozy, elegant, cottagey things.  In fact, every item is shipped with beautiful Jane Austen inspired packaging and free gifts of herbal tea, a secret garden key charm, etc.  The first part of the Jane Austen quote I shared above is written on my business cards and on the shabby chic linen paper product tags your items come shipped with (or if you are local you can arrange a visit to come look in person):

I have done all the branding and graphic design myself and it was a true labor of love that I am very proud of ( a perk to being a graphic artist and on a side note , if you want a store of your own or need design/brand help, I offer consulting/mentoring and design services.  Just email me to inquire as I love helping others with their dreams too ♥ ) .

Now that Mom has retired from many years of working in the medical field as an echo tech, she also has a line of things she makes for the store.  Part of how the store was born (aside from my love for my home and garden, and the fact it has always been a dream of mine to sell my art more regularly) was that Mom and I had so much fun planning my wedding that we decided to keep making things for other brides. I didn’t want the magic to stop. So, we do have a wedding line (but that is just a small portion of the store).  Mom makes bridal dress and bridesmaid hangers and ring pillows.  I make a few wedding things too.

However, our store has 3 lines. Aside from wedding stuff, I have a Cottage Home Decor line and a Women’s Accessories and Gifts line.  Right now I am testing the waters to see what I enjoy making most and what people like the most.  At present I have a line of infinity scarves, knit socks, and my personal favorite WREATHS!!  I sort of stumbled into floral design when I was making my own wedding bouquet and I realized I had a knack for it and also a passion. It is a perfect fit for me since I love my garden so much and spending time in nature.  I have been making dried floral wreaths and have just tried my hand at artificial wreaths. I will share more about my foray into wreath making in the future too. For now, some samples of what’s “in store” 😀 ! (I think I have 33 items total in there right now with several more wreaths to still put up, if you want to see more.)

So that is the abridged version of how and why I started my ETSY shop.  I have jumped in with both feet and have pretty much left the direct sales business that I’ve done since 2008 behind to pursue my dream of fully working for myself with my OWN brand.  It is both exciting and a little scary, because of course I don’t know what will happen. I am hoping for the best and have been inspired by an Ebook I bought for my birthday this year, about a favorite artist of mine who left behind her job in the corporate world to start an ETSY shop, and has made a VERY good living doing what makes her heart sing.  I will keep you updated here from time to time on my journey and will support and inspire you on yours , whatever it is you are doing or want to do.  Feel free to drop me a line anytime.

Until next time my friends,

Keep Living Inspired! Love, Rebekah
