So today WAS the day I was supposed to submit the results of what happened during my week long “Praise Project” experiment. I say WAS, because the cat had other plans. I do my blog posting at night, because that is typically when I have the most quiet time to write. So I worked really hard and had this perfectly written draft that I was just wrapping up (writing the last lines too) and Boom! The seemingly sleeping kitty suddenly decides to wake up , step on my keyboard, and delete the whole project! Then he runs off like nothing happened. AARGHHH. The only thing inspiring about that (and it’s a stretch) , is the irony of the fact that I had written this whole post on being positive and letting nothing but good words come out of my mouth this past week. What a finale to the project! It appears I am being tested again..haha. Feel free to have a chuckle- these types of things would happen to me and it IS pretty funny in an ironic way (the it’s so funny I forgot to laugh way).
So now it’s too late to write anything good. I am beyond sleepy and this deadline I had will not be met. (Leave it to a cat to foible your plans! :)) I didn’t want to leave you all hangin…so , I created this little “funny” for you in the mean time so you would at least have something to look at today. I will have to rewrite and post my Praise Project results tomorrow instead. It’s time to crawl in to bed and call it a day for now.
When was the last time your plans were “foibled”? (is that even a word…because it looks really weird , but maybe that is because I am sleepy haha)
I believe the word you are looking for is ‘foiled’. ‘Foibled’ (in my humble opinion) is an equally good word though – more the type I’d be inclined to use 😛
Sleep tight and bless you heaps 🙂
(according to an online dictionary) Foible: A minor weakness or eccentricity in someone’s character: “they have to tolerate each other’s little foibles”.
Well I’ve learned something new tonight. I am full of foibles!
You are so right Lizzy. I knew foible was a word, and I kept wanting to use that one , but I was sooo tired and out of it by that point that I now I realize that foil was the actual word I was looking for. My spell corrector said foible was the correct spelling..BUT when I typed foibled at end of post, it said that it was incorrect. So maybe foible with the d on the end is not even a word. Who knows! I like the phonetic sound of foible more than foiled anyways so I guess I will leave it haha. P.S. I have many little foibles myself 😉
Oh Bekah! That made me laugh and cry at the same time.
I know…me too. I was too tired last night (or er…early this morning) to laugh at that point, but it’s funnier now. Still frustrating though!!
The cat was editing your post. “Not enough kittehs!” he said 😉
HAHAHAHA Tonya! For crying out loud..he has stepped on my keyboard before but this time he just had to hit the right button which made it all delete. This same cat is quite a stinker about using the touchpad mouse too. He often will get in my way and then put his paw on the pad…which makes it so I can’t click on stuff.
