Tip of the Week- Re-purposing/ Recycling Christmas Cards

Tip of the Week-Free Bible App & What I Love About It!

About a year ago I found a really easy and awesome way to read daily devotions (daily inspirations-including Christmas reading programs at present) and/or the bible with a bible app for my smart phone!  Don’t stop reading this if you don’t have a smart phone, because this tip I have to share today also works with a regular computer, or tablet (such as an Ipad).  You may also be able to use it on an electronic reader (such as a nook or kindle) , but I am not 100% sure on that since I don’t know how those work.   There is a Free bible app that you can use with any electronic device, be it an Android, an Apple, or a computer.  I never knew anything about “apps” until … Continue Reading →

  One of the most handy kitchen tools I use is a silicone trivet.  I actually got mine from Avon a long time ago when I used to sell it, but you can get them online and probably at various stores as well.  They are very inexpensive.  This is what mine looks like:     There are lots of uses for these things!  It’s one of those “I don’t know how I lived without it before”, items for me.  There are some obvious uses for a silicone trivet, such as : a trivet (well duh!) haha.  Great for keeping near the stove or on the table to set hot dishes and pots on A hot pad- you can use these in lieu of an oven mitt to grip the handles … Continue Reading →

Today I am inspired by cast iron skillets and grilled cheese sandwiches (Doesn’t take much to excite me, huh 🙂  ) because in my opinion they just make the best grilled cheese!   On a side note , I also love making breakfast foods in cast iron skillets.  Why cast iron?  I find that cast iron tends to get things just the right crispness on the outside , but yet soft inside.   My pancakes and omelets come out perfectly golden brown, and the bacon is more crispy.  Why is this?  It is because cast iron is an even conductor of heat (meaning stuff gets evenly browned).   What about saving money?  They also save you money because these pans can last your whole lifetime!  In fact, many people have passed … Continue Reading →

A couple of months ago my cell phone fell in the bathtub.  Don’t ask how- it’s really quite stupid.  I am not the only one who has had this “O crap!” moment.  I have friends who have dropped their phones in toilets, sinks and who knows what else ( I am thinking swimming pools this time of year).  Aside from cell phones being expensive, no one wants to lose their contacts or other important phone stuff that they really need.  There IS a way to fix waterlogged cell phones though, so don’t worry just yet and give this a try:   First you will want to take your phone out of the water source as quickly as possible (I am not sure how well this method works with phones that … Continue Reading →
