Healing Another Piece of My Past- My First Bully Experience

broken heart puzzle pieces

Tonight I did something I’ve thought about doing for a long time, but have avoided.  I finally responded to a Facebook friend request from a former friend who crafted a letter to bully me in the 9th grade.  I was sent this friend request so long ago.  I’m not sure how long it sat there.  8 months?  A year?  I just ignored it as there was no message attached.  Just a request to be added as a friend, which to be honest kind of flabbergasted me.  My last memory of this person was of them bullying me, so why would they want to reconnect now?   This is not often the nature of my blog posts here, but I think telling pieces of our story is healing.  I also think … Continue Reading

He Gives Us Hope for Tomorrow- On Dealing with Depression

joy comes in the morning

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”  ~from Psalm 30:5 KJV   (there will be more inspirational verse, music, and my latest radio podcast at the end of this post if you need some encouragement).       When you are in despair, it sure doesn’t seem like joy is just around the corner.  It feels like the heaviness will not lift and you just sort of get by minute by minute, hour by hour until it passes.  It is hard to be stuck in this sort of dreary spot and even harder to remember that truly, this too shall pass.  These are the sort of days that drag on.  Those never ending blah and merely existing days.     I was feeling this way … Continue Reading

Be Kind for Everyone You Meet is Fighting a Hard Battle

and the greatest of these is love

“Be Kind for Everyone You Meet is Fighting a Hard Battle” -Plato     The past two nights, in having two people reach out to me, God has been reminding me of the power of kindness and compassion. In working with the public as I do, I am often witness to the personal pain and suffering of my fellow man. When I meet a person initially, their pain isn’t often apparent. At some point when they feel safe, their walls come down. It is easier for their walls to come down because usually, I can’t see their faces. I am sure part of their comfort level has to do with the unique nature in which I work- online and via telephone. If you aren’t used to having people share their … Continue Reading

The Open Heart Attracts Miracles – Five Minute Friday

Open Heart Affirmation by Rebekah

I’m linking up with the Five Minute Friday Community today to write on the word of the week as usual.   Because I am working on my poetry books, I won’t be writing today’s post in poetry form (but I did read a poem by Walt Whitman in today’s Poetic Friday Podcast).   Today I’m free flow writing unfiltered and straight from the heart.  The word is OPEN.  When I hear that word, the next word I think of is heart.  I think of both the difficulties we face when having open hearts, and the miracles.  The miracles always trump the difficulties.  I thought I’d write on how the open heart attracts miracles today!         Years ago I probably would have said that the open heart attracts drama … Continue Reading

Loving YOU: Are You as Good to Yourself as You are to Others?

Love Yourself

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I want to talk about self love today because Valentine’s Day is not just for couples in my book.  We often do so much for others and we treat others with love and kindness, but how are you at loving YOU?  I’m hoping that you take time out to love on yourself and treat yourself as good as you treat those around you.  This is really important as this self love thing trickles down to every aspect of our lives-including our relationships with others.  It affects our self worth, our own personal happiness and our ability to live inspired!  It is also part of a healthy self care practice.  Today I want to tell you how wonderful YOU are and encourage you to love on yourself this … Continue Reading

Letters from Rebekah-It’s Been a Rough Couple Weeks!

” And hard times are good in their own way too.  Because the only way you can achieve true happiness is if you experience true sadness as well.  It’s all about light and shade.  Balance. “ – Gabrielle Williams       I have found this to be so true in my life, and for that reason I wouldn’t completely eradicate the dark times.  While I live inspired and write inspiring things for my readers (and for my own healing for that matter!), it is important for me to also share the hard times with you.  I want you to know that my living inspired is a choice.  It’s grown out of a 15 year journey of personal trials and self discovery, which has ultimately led to finding myself again. … Continue Reading

On Releasing Old Stories and Emotions

inspiring quotes

This weeks Five Minute Friday word is RELEASE.  I make it my personal goal to bring you poetry in five each week, but today’s word just has me wanting to write it all out.  I want to talk about releasing old stories and emotions.  The topic of release is something I have been talking quite a lot about with a few dear, close friends.  So many of my friends and I are releasing things lately.  Releasing pain, releasing people who have disappointed us, releasing past patterns that run deep, releasing expectations even.  I am fortunate to have met such a wonderful group of people who have bright spirits and want to be transformers!     We speak of transformation quite a lot these days, and even in the mentoring I … Continue Reading

Introducing Warm Words of Wisdom (from my heart to yours)

Quotes by We Live Inspired

Today I am bringing you something new!  If you aren’t yet part of the We Live Inspired Facebook community, you haven’t seen a new feature I started recently called “Warm Words of Wisdom (from my ♥ to yours)” ©.  It’s where I share wisdom that I have either learned from my own experiences or that is inspired at that moment by the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart.  Ironically, an author I really enjoy (Holley Gerth) has started something called “Coffee for your Heart Wednesday” in which we bloggers are to write an encouraging post for our readers.  Since encouragement is what I do here anyway, and I just happened to start that new feature on Facebook-I thought this was perfect!  I hope you will enjoy this new feature :D. The words … Continue Reading

When You’re Feeling Unsure- Inspiration on Conquering the Unknown

Today’s topic of inspiration ended up being about the unknown, which you will find ironic when you start reading today’s post as I had NO CLUE what to even write about today. Today you will find out that the unknown can in fact be inspiring and awesome and that it’s ok if you are feeling unsure of yourself.  So on to today’s post then..you know you wanna read more!  ;)     It’s been awhile since I have written here, which is ironic since today’s Five Minute Friday word is WRITE.  Linking up at Lisa Jo Baker’s website as usual for the 5 minute exercise that frees us to not over think things, but to just get the words out on paper for 5 minutes.  I have no clue what … Continue Reading
