DIY Cool Crackle Finish Nail Art for Halloween/Twilight Inspired Looks

This Halloween I decided to try out a really neat new Manicure/Pedicure so I can look all cool and stuff for when I pass out Halloween Candy to the Trick-or-Treaters Tonight in my costume.  I have been seeing a lot of trendy looking nail art looks this year using all different kinds of funky colors and textures.  I have a really cool Halloween Inspired look for you that is really easy to do yourself ,but yet looks like you went to a lot of trouble.  For those of you who like the Twilight Books and Movies, the colors I used (shades of twilight, like black, purples, gray glitters, etc) combined with the crackle finish, did remind me of bare trees/branches at night.  Maybe that is just my creative eye, … Continue Reading

How to Shop Free or Discounted & A Free $10 Gift Card for You!

Who is ready to do their Christmas shopping? I am starting to get a little bit done!  I have had many questions or requests in the past from various people for me to share some of the ways in which I make my budget stretch and find the deals that I find (people who know me know I am a good shopper).  I have already shared one article on this topic of how I get things free or really discounted and am back to share more today.  I promised I would be sharing as much as possible between now and Christmas- as I know so many people are on tighter budgets these days.  If you missed the first post that talks about the free ring I got from Stauer … Continue Reading

One Voice Can Change the World- Five Min. Friday

Another 5 minute Friday is here.  Today’s word was Voice.  So here is what I wrote on that topic: Go Voice It’s amazing what one voice can do. One voice stood up one day and said, “No I won’t sit at the back of the bus.” Her voice changed the world that day. One voice stood up and said, “I have a dream…” Which filled the people with hope. His voice made such a difference that in America we have a national holiday to honor him. One voice said things like “All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts.” That voice shaped the world of English Literature. One voice … Continue Reading

Guest Post “On Being a Writer…” Plus Giveaway Winner Announcement!

My lovely friend Tonya, who writes a blog called “Nearly Missed It” has been doing a 31 day word prompt writing challenge.  She has asked me to write along with her today and to do a guest post at HER website on the topic of “writing” .  I had different plans for this topic on writing, and started out writing more about myself, but was inspired by the story of Moses instead.  It’s funny how when you get to writing, something else can take hold of you and steer your words in a completely different direction!   So anyways, if you would like to check out the story of what Moses has to do with being a writer, and also learn the 4 things that have helped shape my writing, … Continue Reading

Change- Embrace, Resist or Avoid? (Series on Change Pt. 1

Change- Have you ever heard the saying, “the only thing that never changes is that things always change”?  Very true indeed.  There seem to be only 2 constants in life- God and change.  I must confess I am not very unlike my little furry friends, in that while I am a free spirited type of person, I am also a creature of habit.  Sort of a contradictory combo I guess.  With Summer turning to Autumn, and so many changes in my life the past year (some good, some highly difficult)-not to mention feeling on the verge of even more big life changes,  I am caught between 2 places- excitement and upset apple-cart-ness.     There are some changes I just love and embrace.  For instance- I love trying new foods, … Continue Reading

Five Minute Friday Poetry “Look” (We are a Masterpiece)

It’s time for another 5 min. Friday!  Mine this week is written poetry style again.  The words flowed out easily this week with the word “Look”(as opposed to last week’s fiasco with the word “race”).  If you would like to freely write for 5 minutes , not worrying about the outcome, please join me by either leaving your 5 min. Friday in the comments section at the website, or by posting to the We Live Inspired facebook page HERE (if you are not a blogger).  If you ARE a blogger, why not join in with LisaJo’s (The Gypsy Mama’s) FMF community and link up with us HERE today?   Go Look Look at me- Here I am. Cat Linky Party, Giveaway, & Special Video Creation for Feral Cat Day!

It’s here! National Feral Cat Day 2012!  This is my first time ever participating in an event like this.  See below for a cat linky party for you bloggers ( I want to hear your cat stories too!), a very special creative video I made, and a Free gifts giveaway-all to celebrate this cause.   Why am I doing all this special stuff for Feral Cat Day?  Well, it hits close to home, (literally haha) as a feral cat colony seemingly showed up out of nowhere in my backyard and neighborhood late April of 2012.  When I saw that first adorable kitty in the rain one day, I thought he was the only one.  Within a couple of weeks or less, I realized I was wrong.  There were at least … Continue Reading

Meet Apollo! Feral Cat of the Week

This week’s featured outdoor colony cat is a sweet boy that I named Apollo.  I have a soft spot in my heart for him because of his sweet nature, but also because he looks so much like the very first cat that started this whole thing, Courage.  (Click on the word Courage at left to read the story of how this all began.) Courage disappeared before he was supposed to be taken in to get spayed.  It’s been almost 2 months now, so I am thinking he is gone for good 🙁  but that is for another story.  I think it is possible that Courage and Apollo are brothers.       For one thing, Apollo is the only other cat from this colony that has a long and lanky, … Continue Reading

(Funny) Five Minute Friday – Race

Who needs a good chuckle at my expense this week?  Look no further!  This week’s 5 min. Friday started with a major blonde moment on my part, and since there is this rule that you can’t over think this, you can’t backtrack, and you just have to write what comes to mind for 5 minutes flat, I left it just as it happened-blonde moment and all 🙂  Maybe I shouldn’t get so excited about 5 min. Fridays that I stay up past midnight to write these!  Surely this is to blame… 😀   My friend Becky and I did this project together while we were Skype chatting tonight, and since she is not a blogger, she will be leaving her 5 min. Friday in the comments section below (at the … Continue Reading
